got any info for me??

well I took my baby Bruzer back to the vet today.he has been fighting a cold since the beginning of the year. They told me is Treachea is collapsing and will need stents put in. He is on meds for a week while awaiting surgery. SIGHHHhhh Has anyone ever heard of this or gone thru it? It seems very scarry to me at the moment!!!!!!!!

It would help to know what breed your Bruzer is. Among some breeds bradycephalic or the squishy nosed breeds this is a pretty common occurance/defect. I havent read up in it for awhile so Im not sure if its a genetic passed trait or not.

Hes a little taco bell dog LOL...it is pretty common. The stint will stabilize the trachea and stop it from collasping. With any surgery there are inheirant risks but though a little "technical" the surgery is a pretty common one and your little guy will be sooo much better afterwards

does Bruzer do it alot? It's called reverse sneezing and most times is caused by mucous running down back of throat and dog hacking to clear throat. Most often, like Chris says, in breeds like pugs, etc, but also prevelant in small breeds, but any dog can do it. Did the vets confirm a stricture? Good luck. My rottie even does it sometimes. I usually just rub her throat and it helps, there is no miracle med, so hopefully the surgery will help!
